DESCRIPTION:Our Speaker for Aug will be Eric Houge former mayor of Wylie\nMr Houge will speak on growing our communities and building on their strengths. He will talk about how during his time in office as the Mayor of Wylie\, the population doubled in size and our commercial taxable values grew by $3 billion.  \nBio\nEric Hogue is an author\, entrepreneur\, community leader\, magician\, speaker\,and former mayor.Eric was elected as the 45th Mayor of Wylie\, Texas on May 10\, 2008\, andserved his community for over 12 years\, as the city’s longest serving mayor.During his time in office\, Wylie grew from 35\,000 to a population of nearly60\,000 citizens\, and taxable commercial values grew by nearly $3 billion.Mayor Hogue is also Chairman of the Board of theBaylor Scott and White – Lake Pointe Medical Center;Chairman of the Collin County Historical Commission;former President of the Texas Association of Magicians;and former President of the Texas School for the DeafGoverning Board (appointed by Governor Rick Perry andre-appointed by Governor Greg Abbott).Eric spent over 25 years of his career in corporateAmerica at various levels of senior management for MCITelecommunications and Electronic Data Systems.Mayor Hogue is also the published author of the book\,Clinky the Clown and the Secret of Happyville.
